agriIQ monitors 55 SA4 (Statistical Area Level 4) regions across Australia. SA4 boundaries are defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and align with agricultural production zones, providing localised conditions data that state-level averages miss. View the full SA4 league table to compare all sub-regions.
agriIQ covers all 7 Australian states and territories, broken down into 57 SA4 (Statistical Area Level 4) sub-regions as defined by the ABS. Metro-only SA4s are excluded as they have limited agricultural relevance.
Each region receives a daily composite score (0-100) based on 7 dimensions: farm profitability, commodity prices, seasonal conditions, input cost pressure, export conditions, credit conditions, and biosecurity. Data comes from 18 government and industry sources.
Regional scores are recalculated daily. The 18 data ingesters run each morning (AEST), refreshing rainfall, soil moisture, commodity prices, and all other indicators.
SA4 (Statistical Area Level 4) is an ABS geographic classification designed for labour market and economic analysis. agriIQ uses SA4 boundaries because they align well with agricultural production zones and have reliable data coverage from government sources.
